I know many of us find it difficult to hear the word Christmas mentioned so early in the year but this time it's for a really great cause. This week we had our annual visit from Sylvia Fry from Team Hope. She gave us some updates on what happened to the lovely gifts that the girls brought in last year and showed us a video. The images and clips we watched were filled with smiling faces from around the world, full of joy, gratitude and a gorgeous innocence. It was very heartwarming to watch and so special to think that so many of the girls in our school have had such an impact on hundreds of children. This year we had the added excitement of being joined by TV3 who were here to capture the story of one of the 4th class girls who recieved a shoebox herself when she was living in Moldova. The footage will be shown on Ireland AM early next week, I'll let the girls know when the day is confirmed.
The girls might like to chose things that they no longer use to fill their shoeboxes with or Dealz and the 2 Euro shop have great value. If you would like to send one in the shoeboxes will be collected the week after mid-term break.

While we were all gathered in the halla it was a great opportunity to join together to sing happy birthday to three girls from the school, one of the special girls was in our class.
